As I get ready to turn forty in two days......... Yes...I did say "40". Anyways...as I get ready to turn forty, I've started to remember quite a bit of advice I should have heeded long ago. Now I need to impart this on someone, and (other than my children) you're the closest I have. 1. When you make a mistake, just fess up and move on. It makes it better all around. You might still get in trouble, but at least your word will still be strong. 2. Don't care (too much) about what others think about your uniqueness. When I finally came to accept how "weird" I was, my life became much smoother. I am awesome....not just because my mother told me so, but because I indeed am (**$@# awesome. 3. Take a few risks!! Even if you fall flat on your face, you can take that experience and parlay it into knowledge for your next adventure. I'm looking forward to another few decades. Check back in another forty years, and maybe I'll impart a bit more wisdom on you. Well....if I can find my teeth and all.... Namaste.
